Funding
The development of Itaca... was first made possible by:
A substantial grant from Conwy Key Fund which enabled the initial refurbishments to take place as well as equip with PCs.
Canllaw Online partnered with Fujitsu to develop the Credu project which aimed to install 87 digilabs throughout the whole of Wales in phase 1 of the project to enhance digital skills of those aged 16-25 with the intention of improving job opportunities or enabling a return to education or training. Itaca... became involved with the project in May 2005 when state of the art equipment was installed and the programme was fully supported by Canllaw Online and Fujitsu engineers. Phase 2 of the project extended the installation of digilabs throughout the nation.
A substantial grant was received from the Welsh Assembly Community Facilities and Activities Programme in December 2005 which made it possible to employ three full time staff for a period of three years.
