ITACA
Sky Dive
Funding is urgently needed for Itaca, which is why four people have decided to jump 10,000 feet out of an aeroplane on February 14th!
Please support this new venture by sponsoring them as much as you can afford!
You can sponsor online. The sort code of the Abergele Youth Action Ltd. bank account is 40-08-05, and the account number is 11388088.
We were originally going to jump on December 13, however this was cancelled due to bad weather. Click here to see photos from that day.
Overview

Abergele Youth Action (AYA) is a voluntary organisation formed in September 2001 when a number of local people responded to the rise in anti-social behaviour in the community. The aim is to extend and develop activities and opportunities for young people aged 10-25 in Abergele and the surrounding areas.
In 2005 AYA established an internet cafe in the bar area of the former Hesketh Arms Hotel and called the facility "Itaca".
Itaca provides an additional facility mainly, but not exclusively, for young people in Abergele and the surrounding areas. It offers a venue for the development of multi media projects and community facilities to increase the ICT competences of individuals and groups, including web-based information and advice and links to organisations and services in place to support young people. Over three years since 2005, this has proved to be an innovative and highly successful project which has made a significant difference to the lives of many young people in the community.
AYA now has an opportunity to develop and extend Itaca into the adjoining ground floor premises previously operating as a bistro and to operate a daytime coffee shop and much needed meeting place for young people. The project will be run by volunteers until there are sufficient funds to pay a full time member of staff.
